Mohabbat

Goal Setting For Life

It's Always a big trouble for people to set thier lives goal.

Here are a few tips and keys you can do to stick to your resolutions:

BE REALISTIC. If you're looking to slim down, setting a resolution to lose 250 lb.. is a bit too dreamy. Start with some workable goal (try starting with 50 lb.) and as you see progress, step up your goals from your successes. Now, it's also useful to challenge yourself, just keep it attainable. And instead of losing weight, state the goal in positive and measurable terms, so for example, consider becoming fit so that you can do something that you can't at your current fitness.

GO FOR ACTION. If you made a resolution to get stuff like getting into shape, or to get a car, house, 'toy', or some other outcome, change it now to an action. Here's an explanation: Action is about the activities and behaviors you'll engage in order to attain things. So, instead of aiming for a happier relationship with your spouse, resolve to set aside specific times to spend with him/her, like going to the movies and dinner on Tuesday nights.

Make it a REAL experience. in your head, like you're really there and already have it. "REALLY" is the key here, so if your resolution is to successfully ask your boss for that well-deserved raise, then actually run through the experience in your head as though you are actually doing it... Use all of the senses: see that certain look in his face, hear the phones ringing in the the background, smell that scent his office always has, and feel how good it is to be getting what you're worth and communicating that to your employer. Now, there's an extremely important extra step to this aspect of attaining your outcome, and that is to...

STEP OUT of the experience you ran through! Too many people never get their goals because they make the experience in their heads so realistic, that they feel like they've already got it! They never step out of the experience in their heads, and the excitement and compulsion to go after it is lost. Unless you want to be like the old Everly Brother's song. "Dream, dream dream..." step out of the picture and go for it!
